The Omega Trading Consortium

Captain's Log – Date: 1105-005

“We set sail today. No, not metaphorically, we literally boarded a boat and sailed to the island that this competition of ours was to take place on. Why we couldn’t just fly there is beyond me, but it’s a tradition so I accepted it. Besides, it gave us ample time to conduct some recon on our opposition.

There are 3 other teams participating. It took the entire day to travel so we decided to mingle amongst the other teams. By ‘we’ I mean Richthofen and Jade. Brehus and I spent some time on target practice, but mostly we spent our time at the bar and casino. Made a fair bit of coin but nothing like our friend the Baron Richthofen! He played that casino for fools and walked away with heavier pockets. Now if only his mercantile skills can live up to his gambling skills.

Tapox spent most of his time buried away in research and retired early. I hear Bwaps have low stamina, but I think Tapox may put others to shame. Perhaps cybernetic research is more tiring than it leads to believe.

It also seems as though the vargr was scoping out the competition. Not the kind of recon I’d undergo, but whatever works for him I guess.

Now, onto the games tomorrow. I have a strange feeling about this Tien woman though. I think she’ll be the toughest opponent.”

Captain’s Log – Date:

“An old friend of Karl’s came by our accommodation today to discuss a little proposal she had. Lyta Rheldon wanted us to participate in a formal wargame that the various political branches of Mora held annually. She has only just become elected to her current role, and as such hasn’t got her security organized yet, and would like us to help her out. For payment of course.
Collectively we decided it couldn’t hurt, and was definitely a way for Brehus and I to pass the time effectively.”

Captain’s Log – Date:

“So the ships details have been all but finalized and outfitting is well under way. In the meantime, we are attempting to secure cargo in order to pay for the thing. It’s a little smaller than I’m used to, but we don’t really have much choice in the matter.
The ship won’t be ready for a full week at best, so we’re using the time to plan our first leg and ensure that we can get maximum use of the cargo space. Business isn’t my strong suit, but I can understand it’s necessity.”

“Hmm, captain. Still seems like a bit of a cop-opt. Not only have I not reached captain officially, but I’m still waiting on my ship to arrive. Hopefully when this is all over I’ll have reached captain for real.
We arrive on Mora not two days ago. We were due to rendezvous with the final member of our crew. Karl von Richthofen appears to be a pampered old eccentric. But in order to afford this venture of ours it was necessary to bring him along. And besides, Topax has vouched for him, and while I don’t trust Topax inherently, I do trust his judgement.
After traveling with Brehus for these last few weeks, it’ll be good to have some company. But I’m not too sure about the dog we’ve brought in tow. And to top things off he’s a pirate. I’ll have to make sure he stays on a short leash.”
